Celebrating Black History Month: Learning and Honoring Inventors and Culture

Welcome to Black History Month! We would like to share our monthly activities for Black History. The individuals created a book to learn about various Black inventors, sports figures, and the African American culture, where everyone is included. On the last day of February, we celebrated with potato chips, which were invented by a Black man named George Crum by mistake. Additionally, we had ice cream, which was made possible by Alfred L. Cradle’s invention of the ice scooper, and we had juice to represent Madelin M. Turner, who invented the Fruit Press. Along with the marvelous and colorful display of art, the individuals had a blast learning along the way. -Kimberly Jackson (Program Manager)
