Paladin Launches ‘Voices of Paladin’ a Storytelling Series with Creating from the Heart: The Artistry of Living

Paladin, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of Voices of Paladin, a new storytelling series developed in collaboration with local podcaster Suzy Vance with ‘Creating from the Heart: The Artistry of Living’ designed to preserve and elevate the personal stories of individuals with disabilities and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and staff who walk alongside them every day.

Voices of Paladin was created with a simple but powerful purpose: to preserve real stories, elevate unheard voices, and reflect the full humanity of the people and staff who make Paladin, and our community, what it is.

Too often, conversations about disability focus on services rather than people. This series shifts that narrative by allowing individuals and staff to speak for themselves, sharing moments of joy, challenge, humor, growth, and connection in their own words.

“This is about voice and agency,” said Melissa Bohacek, Marketing and Development Director. “We’re not telling stories about people—we’re creating space for people to tell their own stories. These are stories that deserve to be heard, respected, and remembered.”

The series also brings attention to the work of Direct Support Professionals, which is often overlooked. DSPs do incredibly important work—supporting people in their daily lives, helping them stay connected to their communities, and building real relationships along the way. It’s not always easy work, but it’s meaningful, creative, and deeply human. Voices of Paladin aims to show that reality.

In addition to sharing stories with the broader community, Paladin envisions individuals listening to episodes featuring their friends, peers, and staff—creating a sense of pride, recognition, and shared experience.

“These stories matter now,” Bohacek added, “but they’ll matter years from now as well. I’ve often wondered who will tell these stories once the caregivers and the people we support are no longer here. This is one way to make sure their voices live on.”

Episodes of Voices of Paladin are released and will be available on The Artistry of Living website Podcast: Artistry of Living | Michigan City & Chicago | Suzy Vance and on Paladin’s website Paladin Home | Serving People With Disabilities. For more information about Paladin or Voices of Paladin, visit us or follow on social media.
